Post-doctoral positions are available for highly motivated and talented MDs and/or PhDs who want to pursue a successful career in understanding how protein-tyrosine kinases and phosphatases relate to cardiac development and disease.  Specifically, these positions will focus on elucidating the fundamental mechanisms underlying both congenital heart disease and end-stage heart failure and utilize novel technologies, such as iPSCs and CRISPR-Cas9, in vivo mouse model systems, and molecular biology techniques to decipher the aberrant developmental, molecular signaling, and disease mechanisms in the heart.

Assistant or Associate Professor in Cardiovascular Research 

 

Masonic Medical Research Laboratory (MMRL), Utica, NY, USA

 

The Masonic Medical Research Laboratory seeks a basic or translational investigator to join the Cardiovascular Institute at the rank of Assistant or Associate Professor.  We are looking for outstanding, dynamic individuals to bring intellectual leadership and rigorous scholarship to our exciting program.  The position offers opportunities and resources for the successful candidate to build upon existing research efforts and create new collaborations with basic, clinical, and translational research leaders within the MMRL and other upstate New York area affiliated hospitals and institutions.  The successful candidate will be provided with significant support to continue developing his or her own independent research.  We expect the applicant to have an MD, PhD, or both.  We are particularly interested in individuals with research experience in cardiovascular genetics, metabolism, inflammation, or heart failure, though outstanding investigators in any area of cardiovascular research will be considered.  The successful candidate should also have an established track record of scholarly achievement.   A successful track record of grant writing is critical.  Faculty rank will be determined by the qualifications and experience of the successful candidate.
